How much do you pay for your internet?

I just noticed that my connection just got upgraded for free to 5mb and I pay about $40. It's not volume based (AKA unlimited downloads). Pretty good I'd say considering I'm in Pakistan.

I'm just curious to what others pay for their connections in different parts of the world, especially in neighboring countries like India.

usa, 25 bucks, no cap, around 12Mb up and 15Mb down. it is a thing where all the people in the apt. complex share a connection. i have not had speeds lower than about 8 down and have had as fast as 32 down.

60/month in the us. It was quite a bit cheaper when I lived in Canada for the same speed but I don't recall the exact amount.

$50/month here for fixed wireless. Bastard telco is bastard. They are installing DSL grade lines to the new developments around us but won't upgrade the infrastructure in my neighborhood to allow DSL. What pisses me off about it is that they're building the infrastructure for vacant lots. With the bust, houses aren't going to be built for years yet the telco would rather wire for ghosts than for real live customers. So fixed wireless and satellite are the only game in town. To add insult to insult, a main cross country fiber line runs past my neighborhood with a repeater/switch station less than 1/4 mile from my house but no off ramps.

i get 6 mb ($40)from att in my condo in the financial district of san francisco and 3mb ($35) at my home in danville ca. i dont have contracts. i think they just made 6mb available at my house which is pretty unbelievable given that its in the bay area. i got 1.5mb in 1998 and its taken them 12 years to quadruple that????

does anyone else in the bay area know how to get faster speeds without getting comcast??

IIRC, it's $35.00+ fees (after $10 discount for having cable, phone and internet) for 10 Mbps down, 1 Mbps up.

Not the best of the internet speeds out there but it will do for now.
