$120/mo

12m/2m Cable Internet
1 DVR + "expanded" digital cable (Which is code for shitty fucking cable TV. I literally have about 25 HD channels, which is ALL they provide - plus, ZERO free OnDemand).

My area/building is locked into a contract with Broadstripe cable. If you ever consider moving and you find out that you are required to use Broadstripe - RUN

For two years, I had a really great deal with Verizon. Triple play (or whatever they call it), fast FIOS, and a premium cable package that included HBO, Showtime, Starz, etc, all for $112/mo including alll taxes ($99 base.)

I got it through some combo of luck, timing, and my world class ferengi negotiating skillz. :awe:

When it expired around March of this year, I was confident I could finagle some sort of similar deal from them. No dice, not even close.

Eventually I had to go back to Comcast, a company I truly loathe, and get a similar but lesser package for significantly more money: $131.xx after all taxes and fees for only 12/2 internet that feels even slower at times, HBO and Showtime but no Starz, no Flix, no Encore, only one western HBO channel, no Military History channel (I'm still intensely interested in who won WWII), etc, plus the requisite all you eat land line.

At least I avoided a contract. Of course, Comcrap started over-billing me whenever they could, which takes valuable TIME and a fierce but patient attitude to get their phone monkeys to fix.

ENOUGH! I'm going back to Verizon, on these new terms:

$111.97/mo before taxes (rep swears it'll only be $10 in taxes more for some obscure phone related reason involving no 900#'s or collect calls, neither of which I ever use), so ~$122/mo with all taxes for phone, 25/25 FIOS Internet, HD (which I had before w/Comcast & Verizon) but only I box and no DVR (which I had before w/Verizon but can live w/o), the Extreme (mid) level package of 361 channels comparable to what I had before with Verizon, HBO, Starz, TMC, Flix, IFC, Sundance, Encore), etc.

Less money for more.

Not an outstanding deal, but better.

Cool story, eh, bro?

No landline, but ~$70 for internet and phone, no tv.

Phone: Skype + Voip.ms, 3 lines total: $13/mo total
Internet $56/mo.

Cancelled my landline a few months ago, which alone was $48/mo.

Cable = $0. OTA HD channels and Hulu/streams are free.
Internet = $20/month from ATT DSL. I know, but Comcast is not available here.
Landline = $0. Cell only = $30 plus junk fees/taxes per month.

No landline. $80/month for basic cable and basic internet from Comcast. Kind of pricey for what we get IMO, but I'm splitting it with a roommate so it's not too bad.

Too much.
Verizon was desperate and convinced us to switch to FIOS. They offered a package at 30 dollars off the normal monthly price.
When we got the first bill it was the base price. No discount.
Called them up. They denied all knowledge of the deal. I couldnt find anything in writing to back me up. I was ticked off. They agreed to take 15 dollars off.
Next months bill? Base price.
I was livid.

As soon as the contract is up we are switching away. Probably Comcast again. They were mad when we left.
Oh, and Verizon screwed me on my cell phone too, but I've already cried enough about that.

$65 and I think that is too much for internet and basic cable from comcast. Oddly enough, I would only save $2 if dropped cable. I am hoping to get municipal internet if I can manage to move soon.

Yeah their packages are weird. You pay too much for one thing and too little for everything else. Makes it hard to get exactly what you want for a reasonable price.
Which is their plan I'm sure. They want you to have as much crap as possible because the service doesnt actually cost them anything, its setting up new equipment and hiring techs.

I ALWAYS take copious, detailed notes when signing up for ANYTHING like this, beginning with the date and time, rep's name, rep's ID # . . . I even always ask where their call center is located.

I write down ALL the details of any offer offered me and read them back to the rep for confirmation, and write down any conf.# if they can give one.

This has saved me many more times than once. When the subsequent phone monkey begs to differ about their overbilling, I HIT them with, "On Dec. 12th beginning @ 3:12pm, I talked to Tondelayo, ID # C47A from your Chicken Flat Falls call center and CONFIRMED with her the following agreement . . ."

The initial silence is deafening, and if I get further guff, I go up the line and demand to speak to their immediate superior.

I especially like it when the headset simian says, "WHO gave you THAT offer sir?" :awe:

I respond, in satisfying and excruciating detail.

Current score is Periknose: Lebenty-leben, Evil Capitalist Wage Lackeys: Zero.

I forgot to do that this last time.
BUT, I do get a little rage vent whenever a third party calls my house to try to get me to switch to Verizon or add more features. Then I tell them about how badly I've been fucked over and how much I hate them.
I usually make those guys wanna hang up on ME!
But, thats not allowed. Their rules require them to stay on until I am satisfied. And I never am.

God, I love being an asshole.

~$170 for Time Warner. That is for cable with two DVR's, 8/384 internet, and phone. Only reason I have phone is that it's required by work, but it does make that $40 a month tax deductible.

Cool story, eh, bro?
I am in deep, deep SHOCK. Just got an e-mail confirmation of the terms of my new Verizon agreement, and it is for LESS than I was told it would be, both for the Verizon price and for taxes and fees inclusive price!

If this is true and correct, it will be an all time first. I guess I'll only truly believe it when the service is installed and I've received and payed a bill.

According to the e-mail, I'm getting all the stuff that is in my quote above for $112.50/mo including only $7.52 in "taxes, fees and other charges."

Cooler story, eh bro? :awe:
