Well, our next electric bill will be around $300, no sh1t. May even go as high as $400 depending on the rate increase. Per day, per computer? Really doesn't matter, we're all gettin ass-raped any way you figure it!

About $2 a day. It depends on the cost per Kilowatt-hour. I think it is about $.20 right now or maybe much higher.
Look on your electricity bill and see how much a Kilowatt-hour costs in your area.

V,

If that were the case, then $180 of our $200 electric bills, from a few months ago, went to the Computers. And only $20 left for a 4500 sqft house??:Q

It averages 150 watts (this includes the monitor). However, if you use hibernation with an energy saving monitor, this can be reduced substantially.

I did a calculation a couple years back, if you leave your computer on for 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, it comes out to 50 cents a month... with today's prices, probably about a buck

I can say that only running our two computers 3 hours a day instead of 24 has saved us over $20 a month in electric bills.

With the strain on the grid, it's probably a pretty good idea to shut it down when you're away from it. I know it doesn't seem like much, but a lot of these small actions just might avert a rolling blackout or two!

dafatha00, how did you come up with 50 cents per month? I haven't done the calculations myself, but 50 cents per month seem kinda low, although I can be wrong.
