How much does it cost to pave a driveway (concrete)?

Of course the length and width of said driveway would have absolutely no bearing on the potential cost, not to mention the terrain.

I did a quick google and couldn't find any cost info.
I also called about 6 different paving companies and apparently they are all already closed for the day.
So I thought I'd see if anyone knew roughly what it cost.
If you don't have an answer, they you might want to check this out.

I think concrete is sold by the yard (cubic yard) - between 60 and 100 per yard (IIRC) (3feet by 3 feet by 3 feet.) So, a 3x3 section of driveway, 6 inches thick would be 1/6 of that cost.
That's for materials.

Add in excavation and labor... I don't think it's really that expensive to do. Check your local code. In my area, a concrete driveway is considered a permanent improvement on a home whereas a blacktop driveway isn't. (The rules are retarded sometimes) A concrete driveway increases taxes while a blacktop driveway doesn't change them at all.

That is correct. You can do it yourself with the right tools (hammer/wood for building forms, floats for finishing the surface), but if you've never poured concrete yourself, you probably wouldn't want to try it.

The cost can vary depending on season/demand/etc. I think we paid $60/yard back in the fall. It might be more now that it's warmer now and more concrete is in use. Your best bet is to figure out the size of your driveway and determine how thick it needs to be (is there a building code for that?). Then just do some HS math, calculate the volume you need, then get a quote based on that.

You should probably figure in a little extra depending on the size of the job. Figure out a place for it in the even you don't need it for the driveway, otherwise you'll end up paying for concrete that gets sent back.

As has been stated before, it depends on the length, width and depth of the driveway. We got 6 bids on replacement of our driveway with a concrete one. $10K...and that included taking away the old one.

And how big was your driveway?

I had the drive way extended 10-12 feet x 25 feet for about $1,500. This included them digging up the grass that was there.

In Atlanta form , pour and finish a driveway with fiber reinforced concrete runs about $2.40-3.00 $ /sf for a 1500 sf min pour with minimal finish grading. I would recommend using steel rei
nforcing wire too .

I paid $6,500 last year for a 75 ft. driveway that was 10 ft. wide (most are 8 ft.), but widened to about 30 ft. before the garage using a 6 bag mix and $150 for fiber mesh and $150 for a sealer they applied right after the pour.

I made the drive that wide so I can park a car outside of the garage, to the side, and still be able to drive 2 cars in there.

If you're calling now for estimates you probably won't get your drive until the fall.

Was waiting for someone to notice that. :cookie;

23' x 45' includes removal and disposal of old tar & concrete driveway, excavation for larger driveway area (including 1' gravel base), 3/8" iron concrete rods for base and 4" concrete set at a specific slope.

I wanna do that too, to fix where some mix made to melt ice screwed mine up. If they put a thin layer on top, would it stick?

$3000 for ours last year, standard suburbia driveway, 4" deep.
Took them 2 days and had to stay off of it for 5days til it set up. We replaced an asphalt driveway(good riddance).

It varies in different locals, but it's expensive. You're looking at several thousand bucks.

it would work... that's what the owner of 1 place i've been renting did say 9months ago in my backyard. it's concrete and probably 30-50yrs old and he had it resurfaced. Now it's bright and, cementy looking...
