how much does it usally cost for local computer stores to flash your bios?

i did a bad flash and it wont boot worth crap no beep noise or anything, and was wondering how much do you think they would charge you? if anyone has ever been in this situation

I had a bios flashed several years ago, and it cost me $25. But, when I asked a cheaper store about this lately, they wanted $40. However, if you did a bad flash, another flash probably isn't the answer. You may need a new bios chip, unless your motherboard has a dual chip, or you use Bios Savior.

It really depends. You may have to contact the motherboard manufacturer to get a new BIOS chip. Often times if you mess up a flash and it is bricked you can't really do much besides removing the bricked BIOS chip and putting in a new one.

how old is the board? dfi might send you a new bios chip for free, call and ask.

Check the mobo and see if it has boot block capability. If you do not know what I'm talking about, google it and all it takes is a floppy drive and a bootable disk with the new bios in it.
