they would be silly to take it away. it would kill morale and production. 6k really ain't that bad to keep it up.

I would have free coffee, water and soda. You keep people happy they do better work.

My company just took away the coffee from our dept..it was only around $800 a year. Talk about a quick way to piss people off with little return.

Hmmm...pretty sure that my hospital makes a buttload on the coffee they sell in the cafeteria. We pay for our own coffee supplies in our office "kitchen".

Water fountains are a pain in the ass to try and fill a water bottle up with. Plus if you live in a place with water quality like I do...the water coming out of these things tastes like pool water that was drained into a bucket full of pennies, and then allowed to sit in the sun for a week. BLEH!

I can see your point about areas with low water quality. I guess I'm just spoiled here. For areas with good water quality, it seems like somebody should have a design of water fountain that would be more amenable to filling up water bottles.

A vendor I trained at had a pretty cool setup. They had a water fountain, but right next to it was a recessed area in the wall where you could fit in a water bottle or drinking cup with a button that you pushed to provide filtered water. It wasn't R/O water, but at least it was filtered and more easily dispensed than a fountain.

Mine does not pay for coffee but they do have a keurig, microwave and other appliances. They do pay for water though. I'm not a big coffee drinker but if I'm super tired I'll drink one for the caffeine. Seems it would be more efficient to just drink the caffeine straight in a shot glass.

Maybe $11/month? We order it in bulk (the packages would be alternator-sized, if I had to guess ) and it's not much money. I throw in $20 for the "coffee club" and that gets me unlimited coffee for the year.

Yeah, some water fountains have bottle fillers, all of them SHOULD.

My work doesn't pay for coffee, but they put in a Keurig. I don't get it, myself; the coffee's more expensive than making it yourself in a French press, but not as good.

$6,000 K-Cups = $100,000 extra productivity?

Good deal to me, and you don't have to deal with the dumbass who put in too much or too little bean grinds

Now we've got engineers stacking bottled water and coffee makers in their offices. A safety inspection last week warns employees that these types of things are earthquake and fire hazards.
I'm an engineer. There's a coffee maker to my right and about 10 gallons of distilled water behind me. Is there a problem?

My company bought a bunch of K-cup machines but then someone noticed that their coffee budget was gonna go from ~%50k a year to well over $200k. They liquidated the machines as soon as the first k-cup stock was gone.

Not sure. We get free coffee, soft drinks, waters, etc. It's pretty good coffee too (local place that supplies business around town).

Why does your company use K-Cups? That seems like a very inefficient way to go...

Waste of money. My company buys in bulk, 20 cases of 20 bags each of pre ground "premium" coffee at a time. The owners buy their own K-cups for themselves but for a whole company is retarded.
