It'll be a LOT faster with the 2 30gb and the RAID in RAID0. The drawback? You'll have twice the chance of it failing and losing the data due to 2 drives.
Throw a 3rd one in there and run RAID 0+1 and you'll be just as fast with redundant backup.
I thought you would need to throw in 2 more drives for mirroring and 3 drives if you want parity. but there isnt support for that so it is either mirror or striping.
