How much have you spent at newegg over the years?

About $5k, now that NCIX is in the USA i been looking at them for stuff, they have some nice features I wish newegg.com had. Anyone else annoyed how newegg is selling other stuff now besides computer parts? I hate clicking daily deals and lists rice cookers. lol

Heh, checked my order history (seven pages worth) and my first order was in Nov. of 2001 for a 40GB Deskstar drive-$107. You can snag 2TB for less than that now.

But I live near a Fry's again, and newegg stopped being the low price leader like 5 years ago (still my number one place to browse). Their automated inventory pricing ensures those techie hidden inventory deals (5830s for bitmining, unlocakble GPU's , .. etc) are tougher to get in on at the price that made them a deal to begin with.

I viewed all order history, re-typed all the values into excel and summed them up. Came up with just over 4k. Oldest order is in 2001, a 40 gig IBM "Deathstar".

i dont even know why newegg is that popular. i know the have almost everything, but are their prices really that low? even full priced retailers where i live have things like dvd's players for $18, 4 gb memory for $39 etc, terabyte drives for $50 etc... things are pretty much the same everywhere arent they?

I spent about $4,100 for Newegg over the past 7 years... But I also spent about $2,000 from Dell, $1,500 from Lenovo, and about $12,000(!) for Apple over that time.

The odd thing is that I don't even own an Apple computer anymore. They're all for family members.

Not at all! Newegg.com normally has the best price on things, because they offer free shipping on popular items.

The only thing is that you can get better deals, but they are rare to find.

But most order from newegg because its a all-in-one place to get parts knowing you get fast shipping and good prices. You will be hard pressed to find a site that has everything in one spot.

Well without having a frys or microcenter near me, you can actually save quite a bit of money at newegg if you use the coupon codes, and bundles correctly.

And Newegg's prices have steadily climbed over the years as others have noticed....what used to be the definite low price and service leader in years past is just a service equal of other retailers/etailers and most times no competition in price. Selection, certainly a leader, but sometimes, just having a wide selection without competitive prices is a losing proposition.

Yeah, I've been finding items I need cheaper at my local Frys even with paying tax. Not to mention Frys will price match internet retailer prices and has a ridiculously lenient return policy. There's nothing like being able to buy 3 different motherboards and testing them all for 30 days to see which one you like best and then bring back the ones you don't want for a full refund. Not that I actually did that, but I could.

Love the Egg. My last trip to Frys (Santa Clara) was a nightmare. Crap scattered everywhere in the aisles, major stock outages, employees yelling at each other, TVs blaring at full volume. Just shabby and awful. Online is a much more pleasant shopping experience.
