You probably can check the meter yourself, you know (this access maybe a requirement by law). For my townhouse, all the meters (gas and electricity0 )are located at the side of the building. Everyone can read them. My gas company charged me 35 last month. I went outside to read it and it should have been 19 and so I called them and they sent me another bill.

My Ac is central unit. My first central unit. I love it. It's quiet (in the basement) and programmable. The cooling is fast.

Just the two of us. I'm home from work around 2:30 and the AC hasn't even kicked on yet. We have a setback thermostat and turn up the temp during the day while we're at work. Do the reverse in the winter turning it down also at night.

Detroit Edison offers interruptable AC service. They can cut power to the AC at peak load times for periods of time. We live way out at the far edge of their coverage area in a rural community where everyone is on acreage. They've never cut us off yet that I know of, but still have to give us the lower rate. :thumbsup:
