How much more can we as a nation endure?

Detroit is bankrupt,
various California cities are looking at bankruptcy,
jobs that supported the middle class are gone,
federal debt is out of control,
neither party speaks for the common people,
fortune 500 companies avoiding taxes through loopholes,
infrastructure falling apart,
millions of illegal immigrants demanding citizenship,
record number of people on welfare,
social security disability going broke,
decade long war in the middle east,,,,
how much more can we take before something snaps?

The lifestyle of the average human being will find equilibrium. Nothing can stop that.

millions of illegal immigrants demanding citizenship
And where's the problem with that? At least 98% of the population of the US are immigrants or descendents of immigrants. These people are in your country right now, and you're obviously managing regardless, so what exactly would fundamentally change if they were to gain citizenship?

...Unless you're one of those who thinks that people born inside some arbitrarily drawn lines on a map are simply inherently better for some reason than those born outside of said lines ("wetbacks", "taco-benders", etc...)

record number of people on welfare
That smells a bit like a strawman; considering the population rises constantly you would expect the number of people on welfare to be "record number" basically each and every time you look at that particular statistic...

And there's the NSA monitoring absolutely everything anyone does on the internet and phone networks, and LEO starting to access that data. The TSA getting more intrusive, police "stop and frisk" policies, the militarization of our police departments, the DHS buying millions of rounds of ammo and APCs, Eric Holder writing a letter to Russia promising not to torture or kill Edward Snowden...

No, not looking good for this once "free" country.

We still have Ke$ha.

No, you don't...

http://www.usdebtclock.org/

Almost $60 Trillion in DEBT....

If not DEBT or Federal Reserve printing machines...and China not sending underwear without advance payment - $16 Trillion in DEBT - imagine yourself, what would be....naked on the street?

What do you think? A Hollywood actors would bail you out? Maybe Bill Gates would be feeling feel sorry for you? Boeing would be enough for 300 million people spending to the left and to the right?

What would happen if all countries would send their $$$ Reserves back to US?
Prolly, it would convert to Zimbabwe dollar 1 to 1?

No fairly tale for this kind of life....
Not for average citizen at least....

Lets say an illegal immigrant is legalized at 50 years old, retires at 65. They only pay into the system for 15 years but may be able to draw full benefits.

There is nothing wrong with immigration, as long as the number of people coming into the nation do not overwhelm the system.

You should know better than to think it's immigrants "overwhelming the system", and not the fuck ton of very legal, naturally born shit heads that are bleeding this country dry. Rich AND poor. The dribble of immigrants and their economical effect is nothing compared to the greed of corporations and politicians, and the lazy shit heads dependent on welfare.

Its not just the people raping the system its also fortune 500 companies.

There are some recent news articles about how disney may be able to write off around a billion for this years summer flops.

What kind of system rewards incompetence? If I lose money on a deal, its too bad. Wall street loses money and they get to write it off their taxes.

Things have always been terrible and sometimes been worse. Take comfort in that.

Go read Let Us Now Praise Famous Men if you want to see 'how much more can people take.' (Also it's a good read)

The education/hospitals/prison systems for the states bordering Mexico is a complete joke...they are consuming significantly more than they are contributing for these costs...and liberals think they what they pay in sales taxes will cover this...

Bilingual teachers/textbooks as well as the free lunches that they receive without paying respective property taxes that fund the schools is ridiculous...Adding insult to injury is that fact that several families often live in a single house and send multiple children to the public school system. The quality of little Johnny's education is suffering significantly as teachers who are already stretched thin have to spend more time with the non-English speaking students because they require more attention.

No. This is new.

Our Government, Lawyers, and Insurance companies, raping us... not allowing a normal person to make a decent wage, and live honorably.

17 Trillion dollars in debt, they put us. They regulate us, tax us, insure us, sue us, and they sure as hell don't enable us.

It's like communist Russia, with block captains, and political leaders.

This sure isn't the USA I knew.

No seriously, things have been way worse. Let's not forget this country was built on chattel slavery and had one of the per capita bloodiest wars in history over it. Let's not forget that America led the world in eugenics prior to WWII, including the systematic forced sterilization of thousands of people without consent, or in some cases, their knowledge. Let's not forget the Red Scares and McCarthyism, when thousands of people were persecuted for being accused of holding non-mainstream political beliefs, including one presidential candidate during the first Red Scare getting thrown in jail for 10 years for saying America shouldn't take part in WWI. Let's not forget systematic lynching, oppression, and domestic terrorism directed against a sizable minority group of the country for decades with full state support half the country, even after slavery was abolished. Let's not forget corporations working children in mines and dangerous factories for almost no pay for well over 40 hour weeks, and selling adulterated meats and other foods and medicines, and paying in company scrip to maintain total control over employees, and then hiring murderers and thugs to beat or kill early attempts at unionization to win basic rights for workers. Let's not forget the US destroying fragile democracies in Latin America, the Middle East, and Southeast Asia and replacing them with cruel dictators because of our paranoid delusions about communist boogeymen out to get us.

Things have always been shit. Today they're shit in a slightly different way, but no more than always.

Again, a drop in the bucket compared to corporate/political greed.

Well, if they became Americans then they would no longer do the jobs that "Americans won't do." Then we have to knock down the fences and hope another couple million people are willing to come over and pick our fruit and work in our meat factories -aka be our underclass - for the few decades until THEY get amnesty.

Its a vicious cycle.

...Unless you're one of those who thinks that people born inside some arbitrarily drawn lines on a map are simply inherently better for some reason than those born outside of said lines ("wetbacks", "taco-benders", etc...)

People are all the same. Its just those born within the "imaginary lines" get more rights in the "imaginary country" they occupy.

I've always felt globalization would be the great equalizer as Bric countries come up, established first world will have to come down.
AS long as I have food clothing and shelter I can be happy, its expectations that are going to take the beating and realizing that generationally we are poorer than our parents.
