how much power does epox 8kta3+ need?

i bought a epox mobo and an antec 300 watt system put it together and started it and it runs for 3 seconds then shuts off so im thinkin it might be the power supply i posted this in the case forum but no one really knowns so maybe one of u guys can help me thanks
UPDATE: i tookt he cpu out it runs fine so the processor was the problem is it bad or what?

Epox 8kta3+ with an amd 1.4 gig and 512 mb of ram

voodoo 3 2000 pci GoNNA CHange this
floppy
9 gig hard drive

it starts up the thing reads FF then 2 seconds later it turns off and i smeell smoke a lil not much a lil

I had this problem, but it had to do with the power switch on the case. The switch was stuck or something and it acted like it was being held down. So when I turned it on, approximately 5 seconds later it would shut off. A new case fixed it.

What kind of heatsink are you using? and did you plug in the power for the fan? After all, 1.4Ghz gives a lot of heat.

There is no way I can tell if your CPU is dead or not, you have to try it on another board yourselves.

Disconnect the unnecessary and see if it would boot. You should really check to see if the power switch is stuck.

thanks for the replys i got no heatsink im gonan buy one today =P but when i tookt he processor out and turn the case power on it stayed on so i think its the processor so maybe the hinksink willf ix it or soemthing but y does it crash the mobo jumpers ar eond efault so please tell me what to fix if u can thanks guys

Ur CPU is dead. HOW CAN U RUN THE CPU W/O A HSF !!!.

Chk ur mobo as well. Something to mobo goes bad as well if the CPU fried.

Next time, put the CPU, then the HSF (remember to connect the power to the fan !) Then only boot up the system.

your CPU is definitly dead, takes only about 5 seconds to fry it without a properly mounted heatsink w/ fan
