Nah, not nearly that many. The popular vote tally for Trump was ~62M out of a population of 323M. That's only ~19%. That's right, 19% is all it takes to get elected.
To be fair, that was really not the point I was making. I hope *everyone* votes in the US that is legal to do so. Once. I really don't want to spend time putting a disclaimer on that statement
Well, what, 39% of the US population will still vote for that infantile lunatic Trump? I guess that kind of explains it.
I saw this add in my local buy and sell (Kijiji - prices are CAD):
CAUTION if you are upgrading your graphics card right now. Please read. Many people paid a fair sum for their cards and want to offload them before the new 3000 series launch in the next few weeks. A 3070 will offer similar or better performance than a 2080 Ti, top end card, for around $650 CAD. Understandable that people want more for something they just purchased recently. However, pricing is not in a bubble, it is relative to performance. So if a 3070, new with warranty, will outperform a 2080Ti at around $650 then used ones should be valued closer to $500 due to depreciation, use, relative price vs. Performance and no transferable manufacturers warranty. 2070's were about half the price of a 2080Ti new so used should be about half the price of a used 2080Ti so around $250. If people want to charge more then wait a few weeks and get a new one for cheaper and with warranty. Not sayin, just sayin...
I bet this guy has received several less than flattering messages from those selling their cards . It does have well over 1000 views already. Hopefully people read it and clue in before they buy.
I'm confused about warranty on a used card as I've never bought one. I *think* my EVGA 1070 that I sold a month ago had transferable warranty based on what I read on their site. Haven't all other brands followed suit?
LOL! Yeah, please sell me a 2070 for $250 CAD.
I would take NVidia marketing on a 3070 beating 2080Ti with a huge grain of salt.
Saying the 2070 should be worth half what a 2080Ti is now because that's what the ratio was at launch is poor reasoning though. The halo always suffers the most when a new generation hits, because the whole reason it has such ridiculous margins is that it's simply the fastest thing out there. I would literally eat my hat if Nvidia released a card this year at CAD$250 (US$190) that matched a 2070, and would actually be surprised if we saw anything at CAD$330 (US$250) that beats a 2070 this year. If you want a card now and your budget is $300, if you can find a 2070 or 2070S for that price it's a pretty good purchase.Even if it just matches the 2080ti, which it likely will, you're nuts paying more than say $325 CDN for a USED 2070. The 2080ti is on average (according to the latest 3080 benchmark from Techspot) 58% faster than a 2070 at 1440p. I'm not saying you'll actually get one for that price as people paid too much for them and want more than they're worth, but that's what they're now worth.

Yeah, CDN$425 for a used 2070S is a bad deal, but you said you'd be nuts to pay more than CDN$325 for a used 2070. At the CDN$325 mark you're almost certain to not be able to buy anything new that performs as well any time soon, so if the $300ish mark is your budget a used 2070 (or S) is going to be a decent purchase.I base my estimates (what I'm willing to pay for a used card) on performance. I sold my 1070 a month ago for $280 CDN. The 2070 is about 20% faster on average than a 1070. Therefore the MAX I'd spend on a 2070 is $330 CDN. Actually I think I got too much for the 1070, so $325 CDN or less is more realistic. The 2070 Super is about 50% faster than the 1070, therefore I'd pay up to $425 CDN for that card, if I were buying used.
Now, those have to come down when the 3070/3060 release as I'd much rather put that $425 towards a new 3070/60 than an old tech, used card with no warranty. If the 3060 ti matches or beats the 2080 Super as rumoured, and releases at say $399 USD ($525 CDN), I would be very dumb to spend $425 on a USED 2070 Super now wouldn't I? The 2080 Super at 80% faster than a 1070 (1440p, 14 game avg), $500 CDN USED, or just pay $525 and get a NEW 3060ti...no brainer.
That's my reasoning. The guy that posted that ad has his numbers off a bit, but the point is to stop people that may not know any better from buying and getting ripped off. I have since posted a similar ad in my local area (with my numbers and the Techspot 3080 benchmark) and have already received a couple messages thanking me for the information, which was a bit surprising.
I've actually seen some of the more ridiculous ads disappear in the last few days ($650 - $700 for a USED 2070 Super), so I'm assuming some people are just going to keep their 20 series cards, or maybe they put them on EBay where people continue to defy logic with what they're spending.

In couple of weeks... RTX 3060 Ti will be released for around $400...
Just be patient.. 2070s will drop soon..
You may argue for what you think the rational price for a use product might be, but that doesn't create any incentive for someone to sell you it for that.
I laughed at the earlier post when the guy was proclaiming 2070 for $250. Good luck finding anyone that would be dumb enough to sell that low, when they typically selling for double that used.
I just checked the sold 2070 models on Ebay.ca. Not one 2070 sold less than $420, and on average they are going for $500+.
If I was selling a 2070, there is no way I would let it go for less than $400. Why would I?
The best you can do in the new market is an AMD RX 5600 XT, so people will keep paying $400 for used 2070 cards.
