I've been searching for a couple days now trying to find out, but can't find a definite answer. I've got parts for two systems coming in the mail soon (a dual p3 1ghz and a cel 2.6 system), but I don't have RAM yet (DDR). In windows f@h only uses like 12mb, so I was thinking I would only need a stick of 128mb each?

I don't know exactly how I was going to go about running these yet. Maybe this or maybe try just booting into DOS from a thumbdrive or trying out a network only type deal (I read a how-to somewhere about it). So I guess a 2nd part of this question is, how should I do this?

128MB should be fine, but if you are going to doing the "bigpackets" wu's then you should really have at least 256MB.

I have been testing out that Overclockix LTSP OS. So far it works pretty slick so far!!

128MB per client, or 256MB per client if you're doing -advmethods with Big WUs enabled. That means for optimal performance you'd want 512MB on the dual CPU systems (or systems with HT), and 256MB on single CPU systems. This assumes that you're not going to be using the systems for anything else. Running two F@H clients on a system intended for interactive usage would need at least 768MB, if not 1GB of RAM for best performance.

To get BigWUs the operating system must report 240MB. It doesn't take into consideration how many CPUs you have.

One of the BigWUs that I am crunching now shows in Task Manager - Peak Mem Usage - 189,392 K (not sure what that means though)
