I just noticed a little ding/dent on the rear side of car. It is about an inch or less across and has a tiny scratch as well. I am assuming more than $100.

What are your experiences with getting paint/dent jobs done? How much money have you spent?

Thanks.

I've watched a few Dent Wizard guys push out hail dents and you could not tell the car was ever damaged. I was amazed. Key thing for them is a) they need to be able to get a tool behind the dent to pry it out and b) the dent can't have any sharp creases or it won't come out clean.

Don't quote me but I've heard they get $100 per small door ding sized dent. Not cheap but much better repair than breaking paint.

There are a lot of DIY dent videos floating around on youtube where people have been using Dry Ice. I've seen it done and it's quite amazing. I want to do the same since I have a couple of dents on my door panel. I can't find a dryice supplier. But it dosen't damage the paint or anything the door panel contracts from the dry ice popping the dent out......

I had some door dings removed from the left side of my Maxima while the car was at the dealership for routine service about a year ago. It was a same day service and required no painting...I think it cost me around $75-100 IIRC.

Edit-The result was perfect. You cannot tell there was ever any damage.

Depends on where it is.

I have one ding in the car, behind the right rear passenger door. Since it's basically part of the wheel well there isn't an easy way to get at it and would require painting. I was quoted $300, which to me is more than its worth.

its going to cost quite a bit, if they have to do the usual method of... drill hole, pull dent out, bondo, paint etc.

usually not worth bothering. if you cant get the paintless dent guy to pry out the dent, its probably not worth it, but if you can you can get the dent fixed and then have a detailer fix the scratch with touch up paints / rubbing compound magic.

another method is the hairdryer + air spray can turned upside down. i'm gonna try it this weekend. but yeah you do need to heat the area before applying dry ice too.

*i've also heard that most of the time it wont do much
