How much would it cost to repair this 58" Plasma TV?

Yeah considering the screen (which I can only guess has to be flat out replaced) probably makes up over 80-85% of the cost of the TV itself...this might not be such a great deal. Now someone prove me wrong.

Vaseline worked well to help clear the scratches on my Zune, so just get a tub of it and I think you'll be good

You are right, the only thing this is useful for is the various circuit boards within it.

"it sez one year warranty, maybe u can get it fixed for free? "

A cracked screen is never covered under warranty.

"Standby" rofl... If Standby is that low, imagine it being fully on! Prepare for your retinas to be annihilated.

I'm guessing it's supposed to be 65.5 W in standby... I hope.

Search Craigslist for someone selling the equal model with a good screen but fried internals for cheap.

expertise/parts approach at the very least half replacement cost. its probably almost never economical to fix these things. change too fast.

Hmm the page has changed since I posted the link. It DID have a description along the lines of "has a cracked screen" in a bright pink box. The layout has changed a bit. In any case, the price didn't change so I'm assuming it's the same cracked TV that I saw last week

No...they have it listed on the left side as "Power Consumption Operational ( Standby )" which indicates how to read the specs on their chart. I'm guessing the standby wattage wasn't available, so they only listed the "operational" wattage, which would be 655. If there was a standby spec (for instance, 10w) it would read
"Power Consumption Operational ( Standby ): 655w (10w)"
