LOL!

Is that a valid excuse? That he can't take time off of work?

No, the law protects you from an employer firing you for taking time off for civic duty.

Functionally it is. The three times I've been through jury selection, folks were let go based on their fear of losing their jobs if they took the time off. No one mentioned dog's balls to my recollection.

If I were a judge I would haul him in for contempt. That guy sure has balls ...

I disagree with his contempt for the system, but I have to laugh. Truly that is some good work.

I've never seen anyone let off for fear of losing their jobs but loss of income seems to work for those who do not receive paid time off for jury duty.

I got off jury duty by telling the judge the guy looked like a thug so he must be guilty.

If you don't want to be on the jury when they interview you just tell them you hate cops, hate judges and hate the government and think all criminals, reguardless of their crime should be shot. They will excuse you almost immediatly.

No, it's not, because employers and required to give you time off for it.

In fact, he could even be charged for some form of disrespecting the court if the judge feels like it.

He probably would get let off simply because he will refuse to participate meaningfully in the process. Just tell the lawyers that you believe jaywalking to be a hanging offense.

I think people who skip out on jury duty should have their names recorded. Then, if they are ever tried for anything, they don't get a jury and have to rely on a judge for the whole thing. Maybe then people would appreciate how important juries are.

Right. It's called loopholes. Employers just look for something else like being 5 minutes late for work.... if they really want you gone.

Did you come up with that on your own?

repeat after me: "Judge, why would the police arrest a man if he wasn't guilty?"
