Try it once and see how it works. You might like it, you might not. Use an older blade, preferably one that no longer has that gel strip. My razor is a Mach 3 and the blade is about 3 months old. Shave when showering because it's easier to clean hair out of the blades. Shave very gently, but take several passes. When shaving around the sideburns, put your fingers over hair you dont want to cut (otherwise you'll accidentally cut off your sideburns).Huh, I never met anyone else that does this. I don't use dull razors though. I will use a little soap if I want a real close shave.
If your skin is silky smooth after shaving, it probably means you tore off a lot of skin. My shaves are never that close. My skin doesn't get irritated, it doesn't bleed, I never use shaving cream, and I never use aftershave.
