How often do you check your tire pressure?

Daughter bought a 97 Malibu and asked if I'd do a brake job on it. One tire looked low. It was 16 lbs. so checked the rest. 32, 39, 59.

What ever happened to dealerships even those shady used car places making their cars look and feel their best? I wonder if anybody test drove it before my daughter and said there's something wrong with this thing.

One of the tires was low so they added some air.

Answer honestly.

I probably check my car tire pressure about twice a month. I check my motorcycle tire pressure at least weekly, I might go a couple days riding without checking it, just looking over the tread for a nail.

Where's the never option? My car shows a light when theres a significant change in tire pressure.

I would say once a month unless something feels or looks funny.

All of my vehicles have pressure monitors but I still check every 2 weeks. I want the pressure systems to be more usable with exactly what tires are low and what pressure is in them. Meh.

I hate mandated TPMS. If you want TPMS, fine, but don't force me to have it because some moron ran his tires low, had a blowout, and crashed. His stupidity shouldn't make my new car cost more. Same thing with the backup cameras.

Granted, I've never owned a vehicle newer than 2002 (my current one) so it doesn't apply there, but eventually I'll have to deal with it.. I might just yank the bulb in the dash

They are just not for people that don't check their tires. If you have run flats, you can get a puncture while driving and not know it.

Cars from GM do show individual tire pressures. They did on a rental I had a year ago and I think it is still the same.

My dad's 08 Solstice shows the tire pressures in pairs. It's also accurate and fast; you can, with the key on, watch somebody filling up the tire on the dash.

He made a generalized statement. I merely pointed out some do not have just a dummy light.
Using deduction, he can gather there are multiple types of panel indicators.
