I dont get nightmares, all my dreams are more fun or action packed than scary. Ive only ever had one real scary nightmare when i was a kid and it had somthing to do with a white box of ice cream... i dunno... strange.
The last dream i had was the same setting to a previous dream, my hometown but there was a massive theme park there, the previous dream took place during the day in that theme park, now it was just there for continuity i suppose. It was night time, me and a russian chick were stealing somthing important out of a multi-story betting office but we got chased by a really fat guard and i fell off the pier whilest running away and then woke up. Fun dream. I always wake up when i fall or die in dreams, sucks.
Zysoclaplem your dream sounds friggin creepy lol. Was the it the same person you were chasing that whispered to you?

I used to have nightmares at least a few times per week... but I've found that there are certain things (thoughts) that trigger it. If, during the day, I think about certain "scary" things, then I'm guaranteed to have a nightmare that night; if I force myself to think about something else, instead, I'll be ok, and won't have a nightmare. heh... my nightmares are so intense that I'd rather never sleep again than ever have another nightmare.

i rarely dream so its even more rare that i have a nightmare
you dream every night, but you don't remember your dreams. everyone goes through REM sleep (dreaming) several times every night.

My 'nightmares' involve me dying a painful death in a hospital bed, high-speed car crash or getting into a brutal fight in some alley somewhere, bleeding to death or something like that. They are not 'scary' but they feel pretty disturbing while I'm going through them and I feel weird for a half-hour after I wake up. Oddly, my life is pretty happy and decent with no violence, medical conditions or anything so I don't know where these nightmares come from.
It DOES affect my life a little - the high-speed fatal car crash dream recurs enough for me to always drive extra-cautiously.

I tend to have nightmares all the time. Is this normal for an adult?

My life is a nightmare drowing in a pool of dark sorrow within the depths of my blackened soul. / / /q]
Seriously though, I don't remember the last time I had a nightmare.

I have the same nightmare over and over.
I dream that Meg Ryan and my wife are fighting over me and my wife is winning.

So far this week I have dreamed about:
[*]Nuclear War
[*]Zombie attack
[*]Abducted by aliens
In other words, my nightmares are like living Scifi Original Movies, cept with better acting and scarier beings.

Mine aren't so much nightmares as adventure stories. LOTR style.
