I am in college and i can usually go a week wtih a single pair of jeans...2 if I am lazy. This of course does not hold true if I am on a date or I am at an event that I want to make sure I look good/smell good.

wow ok. 2 months is a crazy long amount of time for me. I do laundry every 2 - 3 weeks, but i have about 5 pairs of jeans not to mention other pants that i alternate with.

And that is very icky. That is why I maintain a 3 day MAX limit on jeans. B/c while they don't pick up scents as quickly, they do pick them up.

And wanting people to wash clothes in a reasonable timeframe is not shallow. I'm not objecting to 'dirt', I'm objecting to 'smell'.

Rejecting someone based on jeans is. I haven't seen any other evidence that this carries onto anything else he does or is.. just his jeans.

I'm not talking about rejecting him. And I'm not talking about rejecting someone based on 'jeans'. It's not like I'm like "Omg! Your jeans are totally not stylish! Stay away from me, you freak!" And this was all started in good fun. I simply made the assertion that if he didn't wash his jeans for 2 months, he was stinky. ^_^

I like this guy. I consider him my friend. My comment about 'no wonder you can't get a g/f' was a joke. I was teasing him, that's all. Trust me, I know all about what's on the inside that counts. I'm not saying he's not a nice guy or that he doesn't deserve stuff. just that his jeans were stinky. All this was was a debate on who was the freak and I do believe that has been established. ^_^

However, with that being said, it's hard to be cuddly and cozy with someone who is stinky.

Okay, I take back what I said. Sorry if I offended you.

Thanks for clearing that up.

There are two types of sweat. Sweat glands in the armpits and pubic areas are the only places that would actually emit an odor, because of bacteria. These glands are physically different than the glands on the rest of the body. They produce proteins and fatty acids that the bacteria feed on. Giving the blanket statement that someone is sweating and thus smelling is wholly misleading. Unless he is going commando (pubic region touching jeans), there's hardly a chance his sweat will make his jeans stink.

As long as someone bathes regularly, and doesn't spill anything on their jeans... or roll around in mud... They should be odorless for many wearings. As far as "dirt" goes, many of you are actually making a big deal out of nothing. There is no evidence he has a sanitary disorder, as he cleans himself and his other clothing regularly. Jeans work differently than other fabrics, and in fact pants wouldn't get as "dirty" (not actual dirt) or smelly as quickly as any shirt would.

Haven't read through all the way, but might as well add my input. I have about 2-3 pairs of jeans I rotate around. So I probably wear each one once or twice a week. As long as I didn't sweat a gallon into them, I am usually good for a couple weeks with all my jeans. Most of the time if the weather is nice I can do 3 weeks about. However, if a pair starts to smell or looks dirty, I just throw them in the wash(khaki's for example don't make it long). Jeans though...pssh...can go for weeks I believe.

Heck, sometimes I have to remind myself that it's been awhile since I washed my jeans and to just wash them for the hell of it. Even if they dont' look dirty I know they somewhat are so all in all, once or twice a month my jeans get washed. Everyweek would be a waste. i think jeans are made to get several wears out of them. Kind of like that "Utility" brand. I don't know if anyone remembers but I think their jeans used to have something like, "meant to wear everyday" or something like that. I'm pretty sure, no one would wash those everyday as well.

maybe twice.

i used to be big on the wash jeans everytime. but some days i just dont do much that they get dirty for. and they were starting to fade real quick.

so it varies from about 1-3 wears... anything after 3 tho is a no for me ;x

usually just cause im clumsy and always wind up spilling SOMETHING on them.

I usually wear my casual jeans a time or two, or three, but I never go over three (or four sometimes, but only when I am out of detergent). Work jeans always get washed after each wear, even if I didn't do any strenuous activities in them (i.e. -sweat). Of course, it is a personal preference as to how often someone wears clothes before washing.

I am not that passionate about my jeans.
..........
Dry, dark unwashed denim, is the strongest and most durable alternative, and will also give the most personal result. Use your dry jeans as much as possible before the first wash. Six months is a good start. A pair of jeans is like a second skin where the indigo and denim are living materials. Jeans is all about passion and deep relationship ? the more you wear and treat your jeans, the more beautiful they get. Your everyday life gives the denim its unique character, formed by you into a second skin ? personal and naked. As long as they are dry (dark and stiff) they have a surface, almost like they are water resistant. You should not try to clean local spots as it removes the indigo and you will get a bleach spot for a long time. The longer you can keep them unwashed, the more beautiful they will get.

well even in 3rd world countries people have maybe 2 or 3 pairs of clothes and they have to wear the same thing 2 to 3 times a week but they keep it washed properly...there's a difference between being poor and not able to afford more clothes and not washing your smelly clothes.

I only jiggle the knee fat for the lovely women in db. All ~50 or so of them.
LOL @ this thread hitting the 4th largest thread in these forums.
EDIT: And sometimes, being stinky is part of cuddly and cozy.
