Turn 40 in August. Joined back in 2003 I think when I was going back to school to get a degree in IT. Wow times flies.

Used to post a lot around here, particularly in the Political Forum but now its become a finger snapping leftist circle jerk so barely post anymore. Work keeps me busy and I'd rather spend my free time with my friends and family.

I hate telling people my age because the response is always something like 'no way,' 'you're kidding,' etc. But the most telling feedback I got was that I don't act or move the way you would expect for someone in their 60s. I assume that refers to things like moving quickly and not groaning or sighing every third breath.

Even when people know, you can tell there's some cognitive dissonance because they continue to assume I'm much younger. I know that because when the topic comes up in another context, the response is still surprise - just not with the same intensity.

So yeah, at 63 I guess I fit toward the high end of the ATOT demographic. But it really bothers me when people make assumptions about me based just on my age. Fortunately that sort of thing is really only an issue online. Since most of my interactions with people now are IRL, they just assume I'm about as old as I look - which happens to work out perfectly.

Sorry to be the one to break the bad news BUT that's because you don't really "feel" your 30's unless there's something horribly wrong.
