I am 26 with two kids... I am finally growing out of Video Games. The exceptions are flight sims and racing simulations... I admire 3D graphics so much that I have the hardware to run any game I want, but never spend any time gaming :-(

I dunno, games are just not fun anymore. I try to play them, but I just cannot. I can race around in TDU, but I only like that for a realism and because now that I am married, I cannot own any nice cars (I miss my Bimmer). :-(

However, my Dad, who is 57 years old LOVES video games. He plays every evening is in a clan and has a new gadget everytime I visit him. I mean, he has IR-Tracker (Very cool, BTW... I just can't fork over $200 for it) and has flight pedals, dual joysticks, 42" Plasma and plays BF2, FSX, FEAR, CFS3 and CoD2, etc... Crazy... But I guess once your kids move out you lose your life and have to refind it... I am sure that is why he plays games and is probably the reason I don't play them much anymore. Kids take your time, are you passion and then once they leave, you have go to second best (video games). Yep, that is my train of thought and an sticking with it.

28.
Started when I was about 5 or 6 with a crummy little computer that looked like an O-scope but with an uglier screen. Played some sort of maze game that used text characters for graphics.

Started getting tired of games a long time ago. Miss the good old days when TA: Kingdoms, Deus Ex and Baldurs Gate 2 were the kings.

Havent seen that kind of quality in a while.

22. Makes sense that PC gamers are older. It's a lot easier for a teenager or younger to ask for an XBox for Christmas than a gaming rig.

I'm 26 and my wife is 24. We both game on PC & PS2 mainly and right now we are patiently waiting for the Eye of the North preview.

Wow, I'm a real youngin. I'm 17 and I play on PCs and consoles (both retro and modern), mostly PCs. I kinda switch every now and then. Right now, I've playing a LOT of Contra. So addicting. I plan on getting back on the keyboard when Crysis and HL2:E2 (hopefully) releases.

That's real cool. I hope I can play games with my wife. That way she'll understand when I want to drop $$$$$ for that extra fps or notch in texture quality.

I'm 23, but I play a lot of console and PC. I've actually been playing both pretty equally lately, theres a lot of fun games for both platforms, so I try not to limit myself.

15. Started playing PC games when I was around 5 with an old Macintosh 68030. Moved on to Windows 3.1 a bit later with CNC: Red Alert. Got a Playstation 1 in about 2000, then a PS2 in 2003, then an Xbox in 2004. Finally an 360 in 2005. I was always late to console releases I still have regularly played on the PC though.

I think you have hit what me and my guild/clan members call lack of something new. I haven't seen a new concept for games come out in a long time. The last real innovative game I played was EVE Online and I started playing that in 2003 and still play it to this day 4 years strong.

The Jedi Knight games online were also pretty strong because you could use Light Sabers Only to duel with. Epic and revolutionary stuff.

Everything else now seems to be the same and that is why I suppose we keep seeing Battlefield XXXX part X come out and NFS Underground XXXX and Command and Conquer XXX and all their look alikes. The most fun I've had online comes from games I had in 2003 tbh and I still play them someone to this day although not often.

I am quite sure if something innovative came out you'd have fun again until the cycle repeats itself once the new thing becomes second hat.

can we do this for console games too, or can they not read?

I would like to see the comparisons.
