41 and have been playing PC games before they even had graphics! Zork anyone? My first foray into COLOR PC gaming was a 300 buck CGA card! Had a whole 4 colors. Then EGA with a whopping 16 colors! My first experience of a 256 color VGA game was a game called "If it moves, Shoot it!". I was in AWE at the cool 256 colors!

I was in Fry?s a while ago in the pc game section. There were these two old ladies talking about C&C and other strategy games. They most have been 60-70 it made me chuckle.

I built a $1,200 rig when 15. That was last summer.

Needless to say, I nearly went bankrupt, but I'm stabilizing this summer with a nice job.

My Dad's 79 and he plays Chess Master , Vista Chess, Hoyle Casino and some 3D bowling stuff. He used to be a Wolfenstien addict and a Commander Keen fanboy back in the early '90's

I'll be 24 in 2 weeks. I've been playing PC games since I was 3, though. And I also play XBox 360 and other consoles.

48 and used a Tandy PC with a 5 1/2 " floppy Drive and no hard drive to start. Played some D&D games back then and been trying to keep playing online games like WOW and EQ 2 here lately but don't seem to have the time.

It wasn't until there was software that home PC's improved.

28 here, married and our first child is due New Year's Eve. Been gaming since Oregon Trail circa 1987. I'm sure I could still kill thousands of pounds of buffalo in a round, and of course only carry 100lbs back to the wagon. I played all the "quest" games growing up, (space, king's, police) and am currently still working through Oblivion and just got Civ4:BTS.

I just built my first rig, always went pre-built in the past, and I am greatly enjoying the benefits of my x1900xt.

25 currently. First game played was Pong. I've been less and less interested in gaming recently though...kinda sad.

Almost 39. First game I can remember for sure playing on a computer was a text adventure on a TRS-80. That was probably '81 or so. Had a cheapo Telstar knockoff Pong console in the late 70s somewhere.

Stop gaming? Not likely. I've been at it for probably 30 years now.

That's real cool. I hope I can play games with my wife. That way she'll understand when I want to drop $$$$$ for that extra fps or notch in texture quality.

There's nothing finer. My wife loves video games (consoles and PC), especially when she can play with me. Needless to say, we were big fans of WoW, and we're now into LOTRO (I have our gaming rigs setup in the office to where we are back-to-back when we play, hence MMO's are ideal for us).

To play a bit on what you said, tiger, I just dropped $4,000 to build two new gaming rigs (ours were just over 2 years old), re-build the home server, my music PC (DAW), and upgraded the laptop. I also bought a few things to update the home network (new battery cartridges, more robust UPS for the home theater, etc.).

The best part? My wife ASKED me to do this.

Granted, this is something that had to be done, considering how much we use our PCs and how old some parts were, but still. When your wife says "Honey, my video card is acting up again...it's time to upgrade the gaming rigs", you listen (after waking up from fainting as you never thought you'd hear her say something like that, of course).

Find a partner in gaming crime. If you think you like video games now, just wait until you find a significant other to share them with.

*Edited to add: I'm 32, by the way.

Text based adventures rocked [Zork series, Scott Adams, Adventure, etc] back then - having to use your imagination for the graphics/sounds and create your own map truely immersed you into the gameplay.

My first experience with pc gaming was on a TRS-80 [at my mom's work] that used 8-inch floppy disks. While taking a break from entering data into a spreadsheet, I would play text based games during my breaks.

hand-held gaming - Mattel's Football - I had a love/hate relationship with that game.

console gaming - shiny new atari 2600 from sears.
