How old were you when you joined AT? Where were you in life? Where are you now?

Freshman working on an AS when I started. Now I should be finishing up my masters in a few months. Worked a few jobs, married, two kids, got fat, almost back to inshape. Well see what happens in the next 10 years.

In 1999, I was 42yo and teaching full-time (paleontology/stratigraphy/sedimentology/introduction to geology) at the University of Ottawa. Now I'm 55 and retired.

Joined when I was 16, now 28. Graduated from high school, four year engineering program, moved to nyc, first job in consulting, got married, second job in consulting, had a baby (he is 1 now).

Prob a new job and another baby in the next 5 years.

Now I'm 25, out of college and in a career that I truly enjoy (most of the time) making more money that I could have dreamed of at this point as a snot-nosed kid.

I was also getting entries to FundiesSayTheDarndestThings.com with my average forum post. Now I'm a year away from my Bachelor's in biochemistry, have no confidence, and mostly hate my life.

I was 17 according to my join date. I don't recall how I got here, I think I was just looking for a hang out place, and place to ask computer questions. It would have been 2003, so I was fairly new to computers and just learning programming and other slightly more advanced topics. We got our first computer in 2000, I only learned what programming or how to build a computer like a year or two later so I would have still been really fresh and a complete noob.

I figure, I probably would have been in my last or 2nd last year of high school and considering what college I want to go to etc... Half way through highschool I knew I wanted to "work with computers" but that's about it. I'm 26 now. crazy to think how far I've come. Now I work for money, own a house, and am fairly well off for my age. Could not really ask for more.
