The brutality of that scene reminded me of Goodfellas, when Pesci's (sp?) character is stabbing the guy in the trunk.

Watch Casino, he does something even more brutal to a guy using a ballpoint pen.

haha...My wife freaked out when we went to watch the Mothman prophecies. We went for a matinee after it was out for about two weeks, and the theatre was empty. She left midway through the show.

My gf has trouble watching lions vs. zebras on the discovery channel, but she liked Pan's Labyrinth a lot.

It wasn't scary at all. It was more weird and brutal. I didn't even bother to finish the movie.

I just don't get how this is a 'fantasy epic for adults'. It's not even really fantasy at all. The movie is more about some one dimensional military dictator who goes around murdering and torturing. Then you got the girl who has to do all these weird things like go inside a tree. Her acting was pretty bad too.

The movie is about a child who delves into her own little fantasy world to escape the harsh reality around her. It has a very sad ending. I can't stand seeing children or women being abused.. and this movie bothered me a bit. It did have some very colorful moments, but for the most part was very disturbing.

Great movie I thought. There were some fairly disturbing parts of it, but to be honest I was hoping for more. I'm not looking for gore, but the point where the one-eye thing was chasing the girl was great. It was distrubing, dark, etc. all at once. I thought it was great.

Definitely go see it.
