Professional opinion: if you live at home past the age of 25, people begin to wonder one of two things:

Financial disaster or mama's boy/girl.

Why would that hint at financial disaster? Maybe they just have a shitton saved up in the bank.

Because at some point you lose out on too much of life by living at home. While with your parents it's much harder to make new friends, find potential girlfriends or boyfriends, and get out of your comfort zone. Moving out is very good for building character and allowing a person to figure out how they want to live their life.

The one caveat is that you need a stable foundation before leaving or its not worth it. For me the balance was living at home until all my student debt was paid off and I had a solid high paying career(3 years).

Friends and bfs/gfs only cost money.

Loser. Sorry but its the truth. What self respecting woman wants a momma's boy with a fancy car and no balls? He's missing out on life simple as that.

I wouldn't mind going back. Would put in my order for a 2015 z06 immediately. Monthly payment wouldn't even be a big deal. Shit could buy one cash now if I hadn't bought a house in April.

Had $32k saved in my checking account in less than a year at my first full time job out of high school while living with them.

I have a few Italian friends who live with their parents in their late 30's even though they make good money. One of the guys actually keeps his money under his bed too, that's a little weird to me but whatever. I guess it's related to your values. Tight knit families are probably more likely to stay together longer. My folks couldn't wait for me to move out, I was a pain in the ass in my teens, so at 18 I was out.

Whatever works, though personally when I got old enough to go live on my own I could not wait to move out and have my own independence but I knew I had to finish school and get a job before doing that. I graduated at 21 and got a full time job then saved up for a house and moved out at 23.

If I was making over 100k I would have been out much sooner than that. Maybe he's saving up to buy a house cash to avoid all the interest. Making that kind of money, may as well. If he's helping support family then I don't see it as being shameful.

i have never seen such a scenario occur

Had a childhood friend that lived at home until his 30's. Didn't save a dime, had 2 cars, a couple motorcycles, school loans and pissed money away the entire time. He never had to learn responsibility because his parents gave him everything. Wasn't financially ruined, but also had nothing to stand on. Really no better off at 30 than a kid coming out of high school.

What isn't clear? The number of men that require a woman to mooch off of financially is small. Give an example outside of that where no gf/wife = financial ruin.

You have no experience to even talk about this.

Again you are just attacking me.

I have known many kids like yourself living "with the 'rents" past 30. They brag about saving money and shit, but seriously they don't have a penny even. They have nice cars, clothes, computers, consoles, good times with their "Bros", and then there is you.

Good luck with it.

That's pretty sad. I really don't understand people like that. When I was getting ready to move out I made sure to save every dime and rarely bought any toys. I'd also ask how much my parents pay for stuff like hydro etc so I can make myself a basic financial plan to get an idea of what my costs will be. It was also useful knowing that info when deciding on how big of a mortgage I could afford and monthly payments etc. It seems like some people just don't future plan at all.

By the time I did move out I had like 30k in my bank.... it's crazy how fast that gets used up when you buy a house though.

Way to make everything about yourself again. I wasn't even talking about you; everyone knows that in your relationship, you are the one giving out the bennies to your squeeze.

And you're one to talk about not having a penny, lol.

Easy old man. Just because you turned out to be a failure doesn't mean young hamburger must suffer the same fate.
