every time I've watched the Bizarre Foods show, his reaction has always been that the food is great and amazing, so Hakarl must be damn nasty

I sauteed tilapia fillets tonight (sauteed in olive oil, seasoned it with lemon pepper and kosher salt), and that came out alright, but when I went to the grocery store after work to buy the tilapia, I saw some shark steaks behind the counter. they were on sale and I've never had shark before, so I figured what the hell and bought one. but now I've got a chunk of shark in my fridge and no clue how I should cook it tomorrow night.

any suggestions? my only limitation is no grill (except my foreman), no broiler, and no meat thermometer.

I vote you eat it like the shark would eat you, raw. I know my parents grill their shark, so maybe that's an idea.

As a note for your tilapia, you should steam or bake it because it's a really flavorless fish ... it absorbs what's around it, so steaming it will make it tender and flavorful. I make it in packets for my wife ...

I have seen episodes where he gags and refuses to eat anymore. LOL.

this. used to have a neighbor that would grill shark steaks everyday for lunch. he was retired, the pres of the HOA and lived across the street. he left his garage door halfway down, sat there grilling shark and watching my place. he called the cops a bunch of times trying to say we were all drug dealers.

that's just the fin part, I would say to marinate to soften up the meat then sear it, mebbe with butter and garnish it with chives.
