The hyperbole is a matter of emphasis. If help is truly wanted, then the people must be willing to change. Part of the reason that areas of the world like Africa and the Middle East are so desolate has a lot to do with the philosophy of the majority.

the people of these countries are opressed and brainwashed, they aren't able to just help themselves. exactly what we could do to help isn't easy to figure out, but if these were christian countries, the american population would want to help.

lucky for us we were born in america or other free countries, and some people happened to be born in other countries, seperated by man made borders. we're all humans on the same planet who deserve the same respect
