How slow is Road Runner Lite?

I currently have Earthlink high speed at 5Mbps/384kbps. I see that Road Runner Lite is around 1.4Mbps/256kbps. For someone that doesn't really do anything other than surf the web, email and occasional stream video, am I really going to notice a huge difference if I downgrade?

The initial start of the Video streaming might be slightly longer, and download woul take 3times more, otherwise you would be fine.

Regular surfing email etc. you would not even feel the difference.

Road Runner Lite claims to be 3x faster than DSL. How much validity is there in that statement? I've used DSL and wasn't too thrilled with the speed.

Depends on the DSL speed I get 1.4 Mbps/ 309 with my ATT DSL service (they offer up to 6. Mbps Just not in my area yet :frown and it will stream video without a problem. Would I like faster... :roll: yes but at this time I have no better option available at least it has been 99% dependable for me with my speeds always testing within a very close range.

I originally had road runner home then switched to road runner business class because I needed a static IP and the ability to host things locally, but that point aside. Road Runner in my area is absolutely outstanding. The only difference is that with the Lite, they just cap the speed way down. If it's just for general web browsing and occasional file downloads, you'll be just fine. In fact, for...80% of people, the lite version would work just fine. But for the price (initial price, I don't know what the price after the first year is though), it's pretty good.

All consumer RR tiers in my area got hit by a speed upgrade this week, pumping RR Lite to 3/384. For $20 that is a steal!
