I think what's even more important than IQ test and tells you a lot more about yourself is the personality tests. They tell you your strengths weaknesses, what kind of person you are, who you would probably be better off with (mate) etc... etc.... They reveal more inner deep stuff about yourself than you can imagine

I've seen far too many good people fall down that bad path. They even brag about it on ATOT. I see gleeful posts like "I just skipped class, aced the test, and moved on to the next course". Education isn't about just getting good test scores. Education is about the experience and actually learning while in the course. If you can just skip it and get a good grade, then don't take the class. Spend your time taking classes where you don't know the information. If the class is necessary for your major, then just ask to test out of it and again spend your time in classes where you don't know the information. The end (good grade and a job) is not nearly as important as the process necessary to reach that end.

QFTotalT

I used to take pride in being able to do the absolute minimum and still do okay. But I learned the hard way how that screwed me over later. Now I just look back at that stuff, and it depresses me hwo stupid I was. While most of my friends retained the stuff they learned before, I would forget most of it because I wouldn't work hard to retain it. When I tried to pull the same crap in my Upper-Division classes (not go to class...), I got extremely screwed.

Usually when that would happen I would just Ace my final and then try to get a curve, but then one semester, I was doing very badly in a few upper-division classes. I studied 3 days straight (no naps, no sleeping, lots of caffeine...). I ended up literally passing out right before the final and the professor had to slap me awake. Being so delirious, I could barely read the test. Then I ended up passing out before my other exam and not showing up. I did irreparable damage to my GPA. I vowed to start showing up to class and taking school seriously after that, which I did, but I found that I was so far behind by that point at some of the basic stuff, I had to work harder to do well than other people. Funny thing is, my memory has never been the same after that 3 day all nighter. EDIT: Actually, I am a little scared to take another real IQ test again because I think I really brained my damage in college pulling all those last minute burnouts.

The only time I really worked hard before that in college was when a friend (mentor) of mine threatened to go into my room and take some of my stuff (he said it could be anything: computer, food, clean underwear... ), if I didn't follow his schedule. He knew my roommate well, so it wasn't a problem for him to sneak in. Plus, he was the type of guy to do what he threatened. I did very well that semester, thanks to my friend.

See below my fascinating results. The test sucks completely. I'm a very slow person, by no means intelligent, certainly not above the average that's for sure. I'm having trouble with numbers on an incredibly embarassing level, and never cared for math in my life, tried to avoid everything that had anything to do with numbers. So much for having über numerical skills. Verbal: I suck at explaining things, always let others to do that.Ofc. I understand they can't tell people that "The way you think about things makes you a Moron." but they shouldn't lie also. Jesus, I can imagine people who would actually file a screenshot of this joke with their resume. And ofc, at the end, how surprising, they ask for $$$ to send you a detailed explanation on your "genius".

My @$$

Kyanzes, your IQ score is 120
... BS ...
The way you think about things makes you a Concrete Thinker. This means your intelligence is grounded in a clear understanding of what is happening around you. In situations where others are confused, things are crystal clear to you. In addition, you have the unusual combination of strong verbal and numerical skills. You are able to solve equations and then use your verbal skills to explain those solutions to others.
... BS ...
The 3 dimensions you scored highest on combine to make you a Concrete Thinker. Only 6 out of 1,000 people have this rare combination of abilities.

no wai am i filing out sum stopid form to git mi iq tested

EDIT: However, I believe when I previously took one of theese tests the result was approximately 120. People have always made remarks about my high level of intellegence.

No seriously they have. I'm homeschooled, started 1st grade when I was 5 years old, had an opportunity to skip 3rd grade, then another to skip 5th grade, declined both because I wanted to learn everything. I'm 14 and in 10th grade now, am doing C++ programming, and want to become a 3d modeller. I'm a geek too.

133 last time I took that one. Almost all of them give me a score less than 140 and above 125 with a median of about 132.

Smart enough to know that IQ tests rely on symbolic knowledge, which is not indicative of true intelligence. Also smart enough to know that anonymity breeds exaggerations.

You scored 138 on Tickle's IQ test. This means that based on your answers, your IQ score is between 128 and 138. Most people's IQs are between 70 and 130.

I got three questions wrong.

I gave up on online tests. I've gotten from 125 to 177. My last real IQ test was in high school, 159. My son (15) took one last year, 163. Woot! The line grows stronger!

(BTW: As you can tell from my posts, IQ doesn't mean jack sh!t.)

No offense, but I'm assuming these scores are on the Cattell scale (as opposed to the "standard" Wechsler - where the score would be closer to ~140?)

Otherwise, you and you son are in like the 99.998% percentile and are in the company of many Nobel Prize winners, and to be quite frank, I can't imagine Copernicus, Mozart, and Galileo being ATOT lifers.

I've taken this test a few times in the past 5 years or so, they never changed a word of it.

I'd imagine that yes, any score in the 163-170 range wouldn't have been from a Wechsler test.

I've administered dozens of them personally, have seen the results on many more, and am not sure that I've ever come across anyone who's gotten a 140.

However, that being noted, Full Scale IQ can often be the least useful of the various scores reported by an intelligence test. These types of measures are great for exploring lots of different things, but sadly, they're can often be misused, incorrectly interpreted, or mis-applied.

Man, I took a really long and difficult one once. Took about an hour. I got to the last page, clicked 'view results'.. and got a 'sorry, we are having server issues at the moment...' I vowed never to waste my time again on that stuff.
