6'2 here, I have short legs and a very long torso.

Overall, I like my height, but it's got a few issues ..
1.) Cars. I could NEVER get something like a BMW 3 series because my head hits the ceiling.
2.) Shower head is like like ... not even up to my chin
3.) Basements in older homes. Seems like there's always something to bang my head on

I got a big growth spurt that has caused knee problems, I have to bend over or crunch up into a ball for almost everything, and buying a pair of 32x36 pants is almost impossible... I wonder if my growth was stunted because I was so sedentary in high school. We moved to like an old man's condo division when I was 13, after which I pretty much stopped going outside. I was always in decent enough shape (lifted the odd 10 pound dumbells, never overweight) so I didn't exercise (play sports) either.

I read some stuff later on that being sedentary decreases your growth hormone, increases the amount of estrogen you have (early closure of growth plates), and doesn't maximize growth at the epiphyses (which comes from impact forces that stimulate growth, though things like gymnastics go too far and damage the plates).

Here in the Midwest average height is probably above 5'9. It's more like 5'11" or so, and maybe even around 6' if you go to places like Western Michigan (Dutch) or Minnesota (Scandinavians). I like going out to California where average height is like 5'7" at the mall. LOL.
