How to access websites without company proxy?

Hello,

I used to be able somehow to access the internet without company proxy on my computer using Administrator(Local) user... while my main user located in the server ( Domain ), i used to run IE as Administrator ....

They did something that i cant ever access the internet without using the company proxy even with Administrator and other local users on my PC...

I have tried to use 3D party proxy, but it doesnt work..
How do i bypass this proxy and be able to browse the internet without it? ( i know its possible since i can ping websites .. ) ..

Im asking this because i have many websites that i cant browse with the proxy since they are blocked by Websense Firewall...

There are two proper ways to do this.

1: Ask the IT department for permission if there is a legitimate reason to access these web sites while at work. Attempting to bypass company network security is a good way to lose your job.

2: Browse personal web sites at home, or at a library, or free wifi, etc. and not while you are at work.


edit: OK, three ways. What Jack said will work as well, as long as using personal electronic devices during work hours isn't against company policy.

A nice solution is to buy a tablet with 3G/$G and use your own portable Internet.

Otherwise, in many cases violating the Business trust leads to loosing the Job.

Just because you can ping a website doesn't mean you're going to be able to browse them without going through a proxy. This is setup that way for a reason, trying to bypass it could definitely lead to you being shown the door. If the websites you need are business related, let your boss know to ask IT to open them. If not business related, that's what you're home computer is for.

I agree bring you own device and connection (MiFi or hotspot).

I don't know how advanced you are with your technical skills but see if you can ssh out of your jobs environment. If so there are ways to tunnel traffic back to your browser.

As an example, build a linux server at your home or some where outside of your business environment. Use putty to connect to your server. If you can do that then you can 'tunnel' your web proxy through putty.

If your IT guys are really good they will stop this in short order, and if its a secure environment you may get fired for trying to circumvent the proxy.
