How to boot Memtest86+ from a CD???

I can't seem to get it to work, can someone please tell me step by step how to boot Memtest86+ from a CD????

I think you just burn a CD from the iso image downloaded from Memtest...
By the way, since you are using DFI board, there's an option in BIOS to enable Memtest so after BIOS is loaded it boots into built in MemTest

No need to find one

You should have the option in BIOS to boot from CD, when your computer first starts to boot up, enter into BIOS mode and look carefully for this option. It seems that most computers BIOS are still set to boot from a Floppy by default... Good luck !

How do I use the built in Memtest??

read the manual for your motherboard, it should be able to tell you how to do it.

to boot from cd.. download .iso from memtest site, burn with perferred burning program, set option in bios where it talks about boot order and set your 1st choice to cdrom. or just use the floppy version and if you haven't touched your bios it will boot it off the floppy.

Thanks for the help.

Thyere's a option called Enable MemTest in the BIOS. Go to BIOS by pressing DEL key when LanParty Logo shows. Find ithe option and enable it. After that reboot. You will be booted to MemTest straight away without needing any floppies or CD. If you don't want to boot into MemTest just find the option again and disable it.

DFI motherboard manual is crappy
However you goota learn how to access the BIOS

DFI motherboard is a waste if you don't know how to tweak it in BIOS. It has the most comprehensive features than any other motherboard to date.

You access BIOS by pressing delete key when the logo shows. You will be shown a lot of options. Don't be afraid, but don't go recklessly changing them if you don't know what it does.

I ran the Memtest 86+ V1.51 thats built into the BIOS and it was going fine until test 8 [modulo 20, ones & zeros](the last test in a pass). It keeps on stopping about half way through test 8, what should I do?????

... Your RAM is faulty
Have you OCed it?
Have you change its timing setting?
Try raising timing to default and lowering memeory frequency by either setting a divider or lowering FSB
Don't need to go lower than the specified default. E.g. if your ram is PC3200 you don't need to lower it under 200Mhz

If it still fails, it's likely you have faulty RAM
Or perhaps RAM is overheated
Perhaps incorrect voltage
Alternatively try different RAM slot

Anyway what RAM are you using?

I'm using 2048 MB of OCZ Platinum PC3200 DDR and I haven't OCed it or changed it in any way.

Have you disabled CPC setting in BIOS DRAM Configuration?

goto 110% on the special CPU
goto 2.7V on the RAM
disable CnQ
Relax timings
adjust tref and keep track of changes til u find "your" settings.

Arm yourself w. a lot of humility and patience then goto dfi-street read the rules - create signature as in the rules - read the stickies in the nF4 section and in the OC section. Do as suggested and search for your setup. Ull B ok..

If Ure not willing to do that to learn then get a ASUS.

I don't know. All the setting should be on default because I haven't changed anything. What should I do so that the RAM works properly and finishes the test?

Try what Frallan said
These settigns are all in BIOS
sometimes default ain't the best
Set the timing according to your RAM specified one. Such as 2.5-3-3-7
Becareful though the setting in DFI BIOS DRAM Configuration page is not in order as 2.5-3-3-7

2.5 3 3 7 2 (CMD = CPC)
In BIOS the setting titles are:
CAS/tRCD/tRP/tRAS/CMD

CPC disabled = 2, CPC enabled = 1

note that 2.5-3-3-7 is just the example. See your RAM specification to configure these values
