yes I would buy that kit over the flash any days. The beauty of going with studios strobe is the light modifiers (snoots, grid, beauty dish, deep dish reflector). My my favorite is a beauty dish as seen in the eyes below..

Agreed PDO. I made my own beauty dish a couple years ago from a huge tupperware bowl, a convex mirror, and a smaller bowl. Worked awesome and my photo-nerd buddies loved it. LOL

I'm not sure what your asking. Do you mean the difference in a Speedlight VS Studio Strobes or are you asking the difference in the different Studio Strobe brands?

Speedlights are named because the flash duration is very short, ideal for capturing very fast action. The less power used the faster the duration.

Studio strobes have a much longer flash duration but a much faster recycle time. They also have tons more power behind them for group shots and overpowering the sun. The flash duration actually gets longer the less power you feed them.
