This might sound gross, but you can get pre-cooked bacon. Piece for piece, it's the same price. It's pretty darn tasty with just a quick trip thru the microwave. I can't tell it apart from freshly cooked and I have some pretty picky taste buds. We get it at Sam's club I believe. just a thought

I'm sorry but you must not have ever had good bacon if you think some precooked frozen crap tastes anything like good fresh bacon.

Foreman Grill?

I enjoy having breakfast in bed. I like waking up to the smell of bacon, sue me. And since I don't have a butler, I have to do it myself. So, most nights before I go to bed, I will lay six strips of bacon out on my George Foreman grill. Then I go to sleep. When I wake up, I plug in the grill. I go back to sleep again. Then I wake up to the smell of crackling bacon. It is delicious, it's good for me, it's the perfect way to start the day.

What do you kill your roaches with?

First of all, it's not frozen. Second, I have had good fresh bacon and it still has a place in my fridge. "good bacon" meaning the fresh and thick sliced straight from the butcher. The precooked bacon I am referring to was being compared the run of mill, store bought, good but not the "real good stuff" bacon. It's the one and only thing in my fridge that is precooked. The only reason I ever even tried it after having the same thoughts on the subject as you, was because it's lower fat than pan frying.

Wow, first you let uncooked meat sit for 6-8hrs. @ room temp then start an electric
griddle with pre-loaded bacon and return to bed. Can you see the potential for a grease
fire here??.

so you leave raw bacon out at room temperature 6-8 hours then cook it?

Yea, until the time he stepped on the grill and burned his foot! Haha. What a great story that was. You must have missed it.

I don't see what's so hard to believe about that. I got up, I stepped onto the grill and it clamped down on my foot. That's it.

I truly dislike baked bacon or microwaved bacon...it's GOTTA be fried in its own fat to be truly good...

I miss REAL bacon...my wife switched us to turkey bacon some time ago in an attempt to help reduce my sodium content (high blood pressure) now I gotta salt the dammed stuff... but it's almost palatable...

That bacon you linked to compares pretty favorably to the Oscar Meyer tur-bacon she buys, (10 mg less sodium) but has far more calories...still, when compared to "regular bacon" it's FAR better. I'll keep it in mind next time we're at the store. I DO get tired of "faux-bacon" all the time...
thanks.
