How to decompress EXE?

I need to uncompress a Exe file to make some changes to it and when i open it in OLLYDBG.EXE it says the code is compressed is there anyway i can uncompress the code so i can modify it? i was tryin something called UNP i dunno how it works because the dos windows always closes right after it opens... any help plz thx.

EXE files are not themselves a type of archive. The most common types enclosed in EXE files are RAR, Zip, and MSI though. There are other installers like Wise that require a command line like "/x:extractdir" to extract the files to a directory. Some older Windows Installer (MSI) exe packages can be opened with WinRAR (in fact most can be opened with WinRAR).

And anyway you better be careful what you link to on here.

thx for reply but.. that is for like rar and zip and stuff lol i had to compress that file in there thing because it wont let me upload exe there compressed folder includes a exe file... i want to uncompress that file... any more info any one??

7-Zip also tends to be good at extracting files from .exe files.

Was this something you compressed with WinZip or something? If so, you're likely to get what you're after. If it's an installer executable, you may or you may not. Even if you succeed, you may not get the installation program along with the files.

Edit: Wait, are you trying to decompile an executable? That's much tougher. How are your assembly lanugage skills?

Edit2: On third thought, maybe you want UPX, the Ultimate Packer for Executables?

Edit3: One more thing: I Googled your executable. Are you sure you want to be messing with it?
