How to download entire websites

I work for a company that wants to take one of the websites of a manufacturer we represent and load it to a CD disk.

Unfortunately, simply because I can spell "computer" faster than anyone in the building I get the task of figuring out how to do this.

What we need to do is be able to take the entire website..have it on a cd and be able to take this CD around and run the website right off the CD in a presentation.

Anybody know of a easy way to do this or a freeware program. I am autorized to spend some actual money on this project so if the software costs something I can do that too but I would like the free way first..Heh..

The easiest way would be to contact the manufacturer and ask for a copy of the site on CD. Since you're representing them and using the site for a legitimate purpose, chances are that your request won't be turned down. Otherwise, look into programs like WebSnake or even the Offline capability in MSIE (Add to favorites, click the checkbox to "Make Available Offline&quot.

Keep in mind that if this site has any dynamic content (such as using asp/php/cfml/etc), it may not run properly off a CD, as you wouldn't be grabbing the necessary source code/database, nor would you have a server for those pages. In addition, you need to make sure to include install files for plugins (for things like Flash movies) or ensure that the computer used to make the presentation has those plugins installed.

I'm not 100% sure but a programme called "Webwhacker" by Forefront might be what your after.

Since you want a free one, wget for Win32 should be suitable for you. It's a port from the UNIX version. It's GNU software. It's a command line proggie

If you want shareware, I recommend you Teleport Pro. The shareware version has a d/l limit of a few hundred files
