How to edit text in PDFs?

I'm using Adobe Acrobat Professional (not Reader), and trying to edit a PDF file, but I can't figure out how to do it. When I highlight the text, I can't delete/add anything.

Is it possible? Thanks.

lol, yes, I know what a text cursor looks like, but after I highlight it the text, I can't do anything to it. delete or typing something does nothing.

are you trying to edit text that was originally scanned? If so, I don't think there is a way to edit it.

You can if it was scanned as text, (OCR). If it was scanned as an image then, no.

How big is the file? If its in the 10's of Kilobytes then its probably text. If its in the hundreds of kilobytes then I'm betting its an image.

First, you need to convert it to .doc format, edit it and then do the reverse conversion.
