How to force same session RDP for 2003 server.

I want to be able to log remotely log into a 2003 server machine through Remote Desktop.

The problem is that when I log in, by default it creates a new logon instead of taking me to the default login session which is what I need.

VNC works, but is much to slow. In CP only one session is allowed so RDP always logs in to the login user session.

I still want to allow different sessions, maybe from an option, but connect to the current session by default.

There is also the issue of not enough remote sessions with multiple logins or if I or someone forgets to log off. So in this case I would like a choice, or and automatic disconnect of other clients so someone could log in.

I have full access to the server, just don't remember how to do this.

connect with the /console switch to lock/use the console session (so it never ends). That is what I normally do with my servers.

For the other stuff, admin tools-> terminal services configuration.

admin. tools /terminal service configurator/ (or some thing of the like) sever settings/ change :restrict users to one session (<-OSOTL) to yes. you can still have 2 sessions using different logins. I never use the console after setting them up, many don't even have displays on them.
also it should allow two remote sessions for administration, but each time you log on under the current setup you eat one up and can lock your self out?

you can also close a session or or connect to another session in the task manager easily.

mstsc /v:<servername> /console worked fine, it did not work as well if the original login was another RDP session. I went to the console, but not other instance of the same account.

I will try limiting users to one login session, I am worried that that might limit the other logins.

The reason is that the account is running a program that I need to access from multiple locations without login of the original account that started it.
