I have Partition Magic 6.0, which I put on when I upgraded my HP 5470 laptop from ME to Windows 2000 Pro. I kept the barebones ME partitions just because ME comes with DVD software. And I set Bootmagic to boot to W2K as default. Well, I wanted the space, and I haven't even thought of ME or DVD's for months, so I deleted the ME partition and moved W2K in to take the space. I guess BootMagic was on the ME partition, I can't find any trace of it now with Search, but on reboot I get the message BTMAGIC.img not found, hit any key to boot to the active partition.
W2K is the active, and that works, but I can't reboot without actively keying past that now. It must be hidden in the master boot record? I don't know where to go with it now.
I seem to remember something about fdisk /mbr or whatever, to clean things out. But I'm fuzzy on things like that and want some guidance, if you can
Thx
