How to get UASP working on Asus H87I-PLUS

I am having difficulty in figuring out how to get this working. I got a Corsair Flash Voyager GS 64GB for Xmas with advertised write speeds of up to 170MB/s but the best I can get so far is 100MB/sec.

I'm not a massive fan of Windows 10 despite trying it twice so I'd like to stick with Windows 7 for now. My board has Asus AI 3 software available for download as well as USB 3.0 Boost software. I think the full AI 3 software contains the USB 3.0 boost but I can't get either to install. I've ran multiple setup.exe files from within the packages but none install. The only thing I did get to install was the setup.exe file from the USB 3.0 boost package located in folder \USB 3.0 Boost\AppSetup\UASDriver. This installed something called "Asus USB 3.0 Boost Storage Software" but this just appears to plonk some driver files in C: \Program Files\ASUS\ASUS USB 3.0 Boost Storage Driver and nothing else. I can't see any changes in device manager.

I read a guide on Toms Hardware about how to replace the "USB Mass Storage" driver with the "ASUS USB 3.0 Boost Storage Driver" but I do not have a "USB Mass Storage" in my device manager. I have attached a screenshot of my device manager.

I also tried the reghack to enable turbo mode as some kind of halfway measure but this didn't improve write performance at all.

Any help much appreciated.

You are looking in the wrong place in device manager, I don't have a USB disk next to me to verify but the USB mass storage probably is located under disks. The section you are looking at in the screenshot is the information on the actual USB hardware connected to the device which will not include a USB device plugged in. The same way your USB mouse and keyboard do not show up in that area, the USB disk will not either.

It wasn't showing USB Mass Storage Device because my device wasn't connected. I didn't realise you had to replace the driver being used for the actual device, I though you would replace the driver for the USB3 hardware and then when you connected a USB device it would use UASP if possible before falling back to BOT.

I plugged my device in found the USB mass storage device under USB controllers but it wouldn't let me update the driver. I tried pointing it to the driver files which came with the USB3 boost download and the ones put into C: \Program Files\ASUS\ASUS USB 3.0 Boost Storage Driver but both times it just said "Windows has determined the driver software for your device is up to date".

I have now managed to get both AI Suite 3 and USB3 boost to install. Turns out I was not the only one who was having trouble and I found on a forum that you had to right click various exe's within the downloaded package and tick run as an administrator for all users.

I installed AI Suite 3 and it didn't have anything to do with USB3 boost in it. I then installed the separate USB3 boost application which added a USB3 module within AI suite 3. This allowed me to run my flash drive in either normal or turbo mode but no option for UASP so I can only presume this drive doesn't support it. Enabling turbo took the seq reads from ~300MB/s to ~400MB/s but the writes didn't move at all and are still ~100MB/s.

In device manager I now have an ASUS BOT storage driver under storage controllers and an ASUS USB 3.0 boost storage driver under USB controllers. All seems to be OK but still not sure how to hit the advertised write speeds of 170MB/s.

Not sure what you mean?

Although I got them to install I still haven't got near the advertised write speed of the Voyager GS. I've posted on the Corsair forum asking some more questions and I'll post back when I get some more info.
