how to go back to XP home from XP Pro

Does anyone know if it is possible to go back to XP home from XP Pro with out loosing everything, please can some one help me.

I could not fathom why you would want to do that. But, I am fairly sure you'll need to do a reformat and install.

well to tell u the truth i dont want to, i have pro and love it, my mate does, i dont know why but he does and i said id help him do it, the only prob is i dont know how.
Every where i look they say that i need to format, but he doesnt want to loose anything so im just hoping there is away

There is nothing XP home can do that XP pro can't.
Does he know that he can turn fast user switching on? Find out what he wants home for and turn in on in pro.

Reformat. You cannot downgrade to Home from Pro.

There is a lot not to like, but some of that can be switched 'off' to make Pro like Home [more babysitting stuff].

Perhaps it's the greenness of home rather than the soothing blue of Pro.

If the hate is mainly a Psychological issue than might be that there is BBS? more suitable than AT for such problems.

If it is technology related may be we can help if we knew what the actual issue is.

P.S. Upgrade to XP SP2 and he/she would not know the difference since in SP2 the start screen is the same.

He's just another one of those people who probably have software issues, spyware, viruses, etc....and then blames it on the OS instead of the real problem.

He needs to format, that's his only solution.

The only differences between home and pro are mostly networking features that the average user doesn't even use, so I can't see why you want to go back to Home. Home is just a crippled version of Pro.

There is absolutely nothing that will be "fixed" by going back to Home.

And no, I'm not aware of any way of going back unless you have an image of the drive prior to the upgrade.
