To all of those dissin' my ride...

It was 400 dollars, and it's got a 5 liter v8 in there

Not much fun to drive in the winter though, let me tell you. To start it you have to give it gas for a good 10 minutes otherwise the engine will die when you shift. If you're in a hurry you can shift while giving it gas...but you'd better not be heading towards a stop sign.

Me and my friends are painting it with various videogame stuff..as you can see, there's part of a goomba there..haha. I'll post more pics when it gets closer to done.

Sounds like a hell of a ride you got there.

edit: No wonder you aren't afraid of it being stolen. You need a lesson just to get it going.

I leave my keys in the car all the time anyways, so I'm not worried about it getting stolen..it has my name spraypainted on the side of the thing, haha.

Anyone know?

Edit: Proof that it's my car

if i had a wiring plan i could tell you what to do, if you dont, youve got to trace the ******

the key will still control ignition and the lock, of course. you just need to pull the line from the solenoid to a push button instead of the ignition switch

You can buy a starter button kit at most auto stores. You're gonna need a pretty dayum hefty switch.

Anyways, Look for Push button start, rather than hotwire.

But that wont be ghetto :'(

And to you other guys..why would I steal someone else's grand marquis? I'll get pictures up of it later to prove it to you guys

He's got a point there. Who would steal a 1988 Mercury anything?

The wiring diagram (chart) is : Here

If the direct link does not work you can try going through www.bulldogsecurity.com

I don't know how to go about wiring a start button, and the accessory wires will also need a switch of some kind so your heat, radio, wipers, etc. will work and shut off when you leave the car.

You might try installing a remote starter; I used one for several years when my ignition switch broke. Although, I still needed the key to unlock the column, run the accessories, and drive, as the remote would shut the engine off if the bake was pressed without the key in the "run" position.

Good Luck,
