How to import from Hong Kong to USA?

There's a company in Hong Kong that has some hardware that I'd like to purchase, but they don't ship to the USA.

From me research it appears that PC hardware is not subject to an import tax, I just need to find a company in Hong Kong willing to take delivery and ship to me here in the USA.

Anyone here have any experience with that or any companies that they could recommend?

It would not be a huge package, probably 4 to 5 boxes weighing 30 lbs each or so, and no larger than 3 feet on a side. Not like I'm trying to move something weighing thousands of pounds on a pallet...

in your local area talk to a Customs Brokerage.
Most are dual-with a Customs Brokerage operation for imports and an IFF (Intrnational Freight Forwarder) operation for exports.

Customs Brokerages have "correspondent relationships" with other similar companies in other countries all over Gaia Earth.

So first talk with your friendly local Customs Brokerage, or shop around a few of them. Pick one.

They'll advise you the details so when you place your order you can tell the the Hong Kong seller to deliver your order to the IFF in Hong Kong (or the IFF can go pick it up from the seller, but you have to pay for that) and they'll arrange import into the US for you.

Fees aren't too bad.

(Note: for small parcels UPS and FedEx are great ways to import, because they handle everything end-to-end)
