I haven't read the whole thread, but AFAIK:
a) the > 2GB install BSOD is limited to systems using certain storage drivers for storage devices needed during
install. If you don't have the broken drivers, you will not have a problem. I've installed Vista64 FCS as well as
Vista64 SP1 onto machines with 8GB installed RAM (P35 chipset ICH9/ICH9R + JMICRON SATA/IDE CTRLR) with
no troubles whatsoever.
b) Get a copy of the SP1 disk to install from and save yourself a big headache in multiple regards.
c) Use the most current versions of any 3rd party OEM disk / LAN / chipset / RAID / SATA drivers needed during the
install process and use those when it comes time to add additional driver support. Chances are they won't have the
