You're in India. Dump it in the Ganges, the bacteria, feces and dead corpses should render it unusable.

Also, you're so paranoid. I'm amazed you're even on an open forum. Track you because of a crime committed somehow using your Sim on a phone that barely works? Who the hell is that paranoid?

I'm not paranoid i'm careful. Do you know that during prior to the 2008 terrorist attacks in mumbai, the terrorists used an insecure wi-fi to contact their commanders in pakistan. They hid in the garden of that home and tapped into his wifi. And that guy got busted by the NIA??

here's a practical solution. take out the sim card if any and destroy it via your method of choice, I would personally cut it and then burn it. recycle the battery. remove any sd card or other removable memory device and reuse. drill through the phone with a normal drill and drill bit in 5 locations. drop what's left into a cellphone recycling receptacle.

Then you must hang around and video the look on the face of the guy who empties the recycling box.

Whatever you do, don't burn it in a fire! Little known fact: Hiroshima and Nagasaki, weren't caused by nuclear bombs. Neither Russia, the US, nor any other country for that matter, ever possessed nuclear weapons. It was all just a bunch of political posturing and propaganda. What really happened was bombers dropped 1 cell phone prototype in each city, with a note (written in Japanese, of course) that said, "this device was made by the Imperialist Pigs. You must burn it in a fire to destroy it." The rest is history. There were 3 other cities in which the residents did NOT burn the cell phones. Later, they figured out how to make those devices transmit voices wirelessly. After the war was over, those 3 cities became early leaders of growth in the electronics market as a result. The rest is history.

So, whatever you do, don't burn the phone! You could level half of your city!

Cell phones can explode? Mythbusters?

Pretty sure there isn't anything in there that is explosive. Probably not even very combustible.

I'd just turn the BBQ on high and lay on on a layer of aluminum foil. It'll cook any internal chips beyond use.

Add equal parts phone and thermite to a disposable container, place container on ground, light thermite and stand back

Step A) remove battery and SIM
Step B) recycle battery
Step C) cut up SIM
Step D) recycle phone where you bought it

If you really want to make it hard to use, desolder some of the internal processors.

This, once you remove the SIM card you've eliminated any traceability to you anyway as all your account data is on the SIM. If that's not enough remove the cover and strike the main circuit board with a hammer, this will render it unrepairable and unusable even with a new SIM..

No, you're paranoid.

Careful is removing the SIM card and rendering it in-operable (or simply storing it forever), removing the micro SD memory card, and wiping/factory reset the phone before donating it, or throwing it away.

Of course, you could simply throw it in the bottom of a box in your closet and forget it exists.

I doubt the Indian authorities can track a cellphone. They're fucking useless (or so my Indian friends tell me)
