How to play XviD video??

i d/l this Lord Of The Rings- Two Towers trailer and it says XviD in the filename...but i cant play it

running WinXP pro
please help

Is it so difficult to use Google? I knew nothing about XviD, it took me just about 5 seconds to use Google and find out it's an MPEG4 codec and you need to download it to use it. For an overview and downloads, check DivX Digest.

i installed the codecs and it works just no sound
anything else??

If you are not getting sound, its not the video codec that is the problem, its the audio codec. See if Media Player will identify the audio type and get the appropriate codec.

You might be missing the AC3 sound codec.
Get the Nimo Codec Pack Lite (link available at Divx-Digest). Has most all the video/audio playback codecs you'll need.

Ooops. Apologies, then. You do need the AC3 codec, at least if the trailer you're viewing is the one I'm thinking of.

still no sound with that player

i d/l the AC3 codec and now it works with Power DVD but not with Windows Media Player
Windows Media Player has sound but its sounds like its in slooow motion
the sound not the video

Oh I didn't download it, I don't want to be spoiled. I wouldn't even download the full movie if it had been released, this is one movie I want to enjoy on the big screen.
