I would love to be able to launch a football w/ nice spiral and all, is there a proper way to do this (I want to practice it over and over), thanks.

well, i hold it towards the back, and i sort of move my fingers right as i release it to give it a spin. you can use the laces for grip.

The best way I have found is to grip the ball along the laces, with your last three fingers on the last three laces of the ball.

Throw the ball, and just let the ball roll off of your fingers. All it takes is practice.

because i'm asian and have small hands, i can only put my ring and pinky fingers on the laces (this is for an official nfl sized football) and usually put my index finger on or near the back nose of the ball.. i cant' really launch it, although i think that's because i'm sorta weak.. but i can throw nice tight spirals..

If anyone tells you how many fingers to put on the laces and how to hold the football this way and that way, don't listen to them. The general rule is the smaller your hands are, the further back (toward the end) your hand should be placed. Just put your hand on the football, spreading your fingers out and move it back along the ball until you feel you can comfortably grip the ball with however many fingers on the laces near the fingertips (or anywhere along your fingers. Whatever's comfortable and gives you a "feel" for the ball). There should be a little space between your palm and the ball (you should be able to see a space between your thumb and index finger when gripping the ball. When you throw, use your hips and shoulders and step into the throw. Finally, when the ball leaves your hand, your middle and index fingers should be the last two fingers touching the ball.

Try to throw the ball over your head. A lot of people do a side arm or 3/4 delivery as if it was a baseball. That way the ball is going to wobble (sp) in the air. Also try to find the grip that works best for you. It's different for everybody. For me it's putting my index and middle finger on the last two laces and my thumb underneath the ball.

Either you've got hands the size of Kevin Garnett's, or you've been playing with the pee-wee football again. Not even NFL QBs have their index finger on the laces and their hands are pretty big. Hell, I think my middle finger barely touches the end of the laces and my hands are pretty big..

Hold towards the back of the ball with your pinky, ring finger, and middle finger over the laces. The middle finger goes over the first lace, ring finger goes over the third, pinky goes over the fifth if you can reach.

Throw like a baseball, but have your hand flatten out and have the football roll off your hand as you extend.
