How to read NVIDIA GPU temps in Vista64?

I had to re-apply thermal compound for my eVGA 9800GTX and I want to make sure I did it right before I put any load on the GPU.

1) I installed nTune, but I don't see any temps.

2) I installed Everest, but I don't see any temps.

3) I installed RivaTuner, but it tried to install an unsigned driver that was rejected by Windows.

4) I installed ATITool, but it tried to install an unsigned driver that was rejected by Windows.

As far as I know, the signed driver requirement can't be bypassed in Vista64 without some serious hacking.

You should check if there are newer versions of the apps. For instance, Everest gets updated quite frequently as new toys come out. (likely in a beta form, but you don't have to install it so it doesn't matter)

I have just downloaded them from their respective homepages. They should be the latest versions.

Try Nvidia's own System Monitor (requires the latest drivers, I think). Worked fine for me, though for some reason the CPU temperature indicator started going berzerk (showing 23000+C!).

Hit F8 during each bootup and select "Disable Driver Integrity Checks" or similar. Takes an extra 2 seconds of your life every few weeks or so.

IIRC, Rivatuner does have a signed driver as of a few versions ago so you probably don't need to do this, anyway.

You should be able to select 'install anyway' when the unsigned driver crap comes up, try Rivatuner 2.09.

That's what I do, and RivaTuner monitors my temps just fine.

I also use GPU-Z. It just instantly able to read my Leadtek 9800GTX, and I'm also on Vista Ultimate x64.

I think thats what I did with ATI tool cause I'm currently running it in Vista 64 home prem.
