I think most cards will only support two monitors regardless of how they are connected. You will probably have to sacrifice one monitor in order to use your HDTV to output content.

You actually have a few options.

1) there is a company who makes a product that has one or two DVI in and like 2-4 DVI outs, it comes with included software to run multiple setups. I can not remember what the name if this product is but google "multiple monitor gaming setup" or something like that.
2) run a second video card.

Either way, I believe the pure game will only run on one monitor Unless it has support for multiple monitor. I know of only one game atm that does and thats Flight Simulator. (I am sure there are others).

if your board has a second PCI-E slot, I would suggest just picking up a cheap 8600GT to run your HDTV off of DVI/HDMI.

thx for all the replies.

I wish i can afford buying or upgrading my computer right now. I am dead broke after buying the plasma tv. My motherboard only support one 16x pci-e and one 4x pci-e. Is there any 4x pci-e vidoe car out there?

wow, very pricy. i think my whole desktop setup worth $400. a good 1x pci-e vidoe card is $450. i 'm better off upgrading mobo with 2nd pci-e

Today, i try to conect the TV as a monitor, but when when i set the resolution to 1080p. The screen won't fit all the way to the edge. is this normal?

Sometimes. You might have to adjust the scaling options, I'm not sure how to do it with an nVidia card though. For some reason my video card displays 720p not to fill the whole screen unless I adjust the scaling options.

You can also try simply adjusting the resolution to 1080p without going through nVidia HDTV thing. It's just 1920x1080 at 60hz. And basically all monitor output is progressive, so the difference between the HDTV resolutions becomes irrelevant when using it as a monitor. I think. Correct me if I'm wrong.

I am going to tag along to this thread with a separate question... thats related.

I'm looking at buying the 7600gt myself and I currently have a 37 inch LCD HDTV. With my old and now dead 9800xt, the only way to run the TV as a monitor was through VGA... DVI -> HMDI just would not work. The drivers wouldn't have any of it.

How do you go about running the TV as a High Def computer monitor? Through what connection? What software?

Any and all advice would be much appreciated.

Thanks.
